Chinese Beef and Onion Stir Fry

Ingredients:

  • 1 pound beef, thinly sliced against the grain
  • 1 large onion, sliced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil (optional)
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions:

  1. Prepare the Beef:
  • In a bowl, combine the sliced beef with soy sauce, cornstarch, sesame oil (if using), salt, and pepper. Mix well and marinate for at least 15 minutes (or up to 30 minutes for extra flavor).
  1. Stir-Fry:
  • Heat a large skillet or wok over high heat. Add a little oil (if not using sesame oil in the marinade) and swirl to coat.
  • Add the marinated beef and stir-fry for 2-3 minutes until browned. Remove the beef from the skillet and set aside.
  • Add the sliced onion and garlic to the skillet and stir-fry for 2-3 minutes until softened and slightly browned.
  • Return the beef to the skillet and stir-fry for another minute to combine with the onions and garlic.

  • Serve the Chinese Beef and Onion Stir-Fry hot over rice or noodles.
